About us

Our Story

We are a Team who have lived and experienced the life of a migrant and decided to come together to form Jesuscina Foundation. At the early stage of the pandemic, we were using internally generated funds to give out donations to migrants who were made redundant and were not on any form of benefits and others who had a long wait for a response from the Home Office. The number of beneficiaries grew to the extent we could no longer afford so we decided to register as a charity to be eligible for funding to help increase our client base and as well increase our services to include anyone who is socially disadvantaged.

Our Vision

Jesuscina Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation who’s objective is to relief the needs of migrants who need help settling and building their lives in the UK. We aim to extend our support to any person(s) socially disadvantaged; by providing education, training and support, advice and counselling. The Foundation seeks to expand it‘s beneficiary base to support family’s cost of living through an established Community Hub.

Harriet Nyarkoa Apau

Founder and Chair

Harriet Nyarkoa Apau is the Founder and Chair of Jesuscina Foundation. She holds MSc. International Business [Entrepreneurship & Logistics and Operations Management].

Harriet served as an administrator at the BrightSparks Charity Foundation. She’s been involved in numerous voluntary roles, assisting the needy and vulnerable.

Her hard work won her the Unsung Hero Award 2022 at the CAHN Black History Month Gala Awards.

Nana Ama Akowuah-Addo

Secretary

Nana Ama Akowuah-Addo joined Jesuscina Foundation in April 2023 as Secretary of the Foundation. Nana Ama is an oncologist with vast experience working with the NHS since 2015. She currently manages a team of oncologist and nurses who look after teenagers and young adults under the age of 30 with cancer.

She’s also one of the Trustees of the Christian Family Fellowship, a charity organisation registered under the Charity Commission. Serving in various capacities for the Fellowship.

Nana Ama has held leadership role in the volunteer/charity sector, being a lead teacher of the Christian Family Fellowship. She’s passionate about helping and giving back to society and this passion is deeply rooted in her faith as a Christian.

Josephine Obeng

Financial Secretary

Josephine Obeng is a founding member/trustee of Jesuscina Foundation, serving as the Financial Secretary on the board. Josephine works as a healthcare personnel with Medacs, her hard work earned her the best worker of the year 2022.

She holds a degree in accounting, she’s empathetic and passionate which has led her to serve in many voluntary roles in the Manchester area.

Her passion for serving others and helping the needy/vulnerable helped shaped the formation of Jesuscina Foundation.

Regina Opoku

Treasure

Regina Opoku is a founding member of Jesuscina Foundation, she’s being instrumental in the early stage of the Foundation. Regina is a qualified nurse currently working with the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

Regina has held voluntary role with the Christian Church, serving as the Music Director. She also does take on support work at Stepping Hill Hospital where she supports the needy and vulnerable.
